“To confront” does not have to mean “to create conflict.”

It doesn’t matter if you are the chair of the board or an intern, if you run your own business or if it’s within your family:
We all have conversations that we tend to dread, fear, or avoid.

Usually this is because we either don’t want to ‘be difficult’ ‘stir things up’ ’cause friction or hurt’ OR we don’t want to face an uncertain reaction or unknown  consequences.

People would rather suffer in silence, assuming that to say something will create a negative effect (when, more often than not, to say something can create a solution.)

So suffer we do….and continue to do as problems, grievances, issues, irritations build up one upon the other – until it feels ‘too late’ to say something, it’s gone ‘too far’ so now the situation has to be ‘put up with’.

Either that – or it builds and builds and builds until something breaks or boiling point is reached and some kind of eruption feels inevitable.

In this one-day workshop we will look at the impact of challenging conversations and how avoiding them also creates stress and dissatisfaction.

I will help you explore both your skills and challenges with communication and what situations or people you might embrace or avoid.

Firstly we will look at:

  • What constitutes a challenging conversation
  • The types of people that you find challenging
  • The types of situation that you find challenging
  • How personality impacts communication

Then, of course, I will take you through each step of The Whole V.O.I.C.E Method™

You can use the method both on the day of the workshop to create a structure for a pending conversation in your life, and more importantly so that you fully understand how it works so that you have a tool for life to:

This structure will be shared with you in full, so that you have this tool at your disposal for the rest of your life to take the stress out of saying what needs to be said – and to say it in a way that greatly reduces the chance of creating conflict.

I’m wary of potentially getting emotional in front of a group of strangers – is this likely?
The short answer is yes,  it is possible that you might feel a range of emotions from frustration and anger to hurt and upset. You might also feel joy, delight and elation as we create a way through approaching the conversations that are difficult for you.  You will get the chance to work on a current difficult conversation – so anything you’re feeling about that might arise.  Please know that this is a safe space, that you are free to leave the room to collect yourself if you wish at any time – and one of my super-powers is holding space for people.

I don’t have a current difficult conversation to work through is this for me? Yes.  This course is for anyone who ever finds it confronting to say something that might not be well received and wants a way to feel more able and confident to approach those situations.

Is the venue accessible? Yes. And being close to Waterloo station there are all sorts of transport options too.

Refunds & Transfers. Please be aware that no pre-event refunds are available after 14days from purchase.  Only full price tickets are date transferable, but all tickets may be transferred to another person.  There will be no refunds for change of delivery method (ie from in-person to online.) If for any reason the event is completely cancelled you will be offered a 1-2-1 session with Judith to the value of your ticket.
