What makes me different? I’m not just a ‘public speaking coach’ telling you where and how to stand and speak, I’m a vocal confidence specialist – helping you use your voice more confidently and effectively through the whole of your life, personal, professional, home and social.

All speaking is ‘Public’ Speaking

When you express your thoughts, ideas, feelings, opinions, or beliefs, you are making them ‘public’. This is why different situations where you’re called upon to speak or express yourself can feel intimidating. These fears or challenges are a part of your subconscious make-up and life-patterns.  The intimidation can be especially true if you are a bit of a ‘people-pleaser’, someone who hates the idea of saying something that others might question or disagree with, or might put others out.

When we work together, we approach your vocal confidence from an holistic standpoint. Holistic doesn’t mean ‘hippy-dippy’* – it is actually a very practical approach which means looking at all the elements of your life that impact you positively and negatively, the tools and support you have and what is missing.  We look at how these elements affect your voice, and where your voice effects your life.

When you liberate your voice, you liberate your life – by freeing yourself to have the conversations you’ve been avoiding, ask for the help you need, to say “No.” sometimes, and, yes, to deliver presentations or public speeches.

If you are connected to your challenges and fears before you express yourself there will be problems that might be, or become, patterns of avoidance or expression that you get trapped in.  I work with you to discover where your challenges come from and to liberate you from them.

At the extreme, these challenges keep people from speaking up for themselves or resist speaking positively about themselves, they stop people from asking for help, or accepting or going for a promotion at work, they stop people from being or becoming the whole of who they could be.  Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, said in an interview:
